In Loving Memory of Tom Mooney Sr.
September 4, 1941 – December 7, 2025
Tom Mooney Sr., a man of profound integrity, unwavering devotion, and deep faith, passed away on December 7, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on September 4, 1941, Tom spent his life as a pipeline welder, a career that demanded strength, precision, and a tireless work ethic.
To those who knew him, Tom’s life was defined by two great pillars: his honor and his faith. His trademark was the deep, active respect he showed toward his parents, Brann Mooney and Carrie Francis(Mamaw Mooney). Throughout his life, he carried their lessons and their names with immense pride, ensuring that the foundation they built was never forgotten. This devotion was an extension of his walk with God; he lived as a man of his word, a steady presence, and a living example of what it means to truly "honor thy father and mother."
Tom’s legacy is found in the bonds he nurtured and the family values he passed down. He taught those around him that loyalty to one's roots and faith in the Almighty are the greatest services one can perform. He was the anchor that kept his loved ones grounded, always leading with a sense of duty, a prayerful heart, and a kind spirit.
Tom Mooney Sr. is survived by his two children, Jessica Mooney, his firstborn and his only daughter; Tom Mooney Jr, his secondborn and his only son; Carla Hodges, the mother of his 2 children; grandsons, Gavin Williams and Thomas Mooney; great-grandsons, Kanaan Mooney, Guage Coker, and Blaize Coker; Brother Tim (Mary) Mooney; brother, Sam Mooney; Sister, Cissie (Jimmy) Reynolds.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Brann and Carrie Frances Mooney; brothers, Bucky and Lem; sister Linda, and his eldest granddaughter, Ashley Mooney.
He now joins Brann and Carrie Frances in eternal rest, having honored them—and his Creator—every single day of his life.
