Olen "Tom" Wade Murphy, 66, of Decatur, Alabama passed away Friday, January 16, 2026, at Huntsville Hospital Huntsville, AL. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Monday, January 19, 2026, at Lawrence Funeral Home.
Born on August 1, 1959, to Van and Norma Bell Murphy, Tom enjoyed various hobbies such as playing guitar, model trains, Civil War history, and building town-scapes for trains.
Survivors include his children, Lauren (Clay) Cameron and Ben (Keri) Murphy; grandchildren, Cole Murphy and William Murphy; sisters, Savann (Jerry) Beason and Tammy (Lavern) Brown; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Van Murphy and Norma Milton; brother, Ricky Murphy; and sister, Ginger Nelson.
The family extends special thanks to doctors nurses and staff at Decatur Morgan Hospital and Huntsville Hospital.
