Edward Thomas Papson Jr. ("Tom" or "Tommy"), 73, passed away peacefully at his home in Maryville, TN on Monday, August 19, 2024 following a lengthy illness. Tom was born January 7, 1951 to Dorothea and Edward Thomas Papson Sr. A lifelong resident of Chattanooga, Tom graduated from City High School (class of 1969) and UT-Chattanooga. Tom is survived by his wife, Kathy Reid-Papson, children Mena Papson, Minda Papson Begley (David), and PT Papson; grandchildren Layla and Bella Papson, Brooks and Bash Begley. A Celebration of Life will take place in Chattanooga this Fall at a time and place to be announced later. Heartfelt thanks for the care and support from Hospice of Chattanooga and UT Medical Center Hospice in Knoxville/Maryville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Chattanooga Rescue Mission (chattanoogarescuemission.com). Tom will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
