Tom Stewart

James T (Tom) Stewart, passed away on October 22, 2025. He was the first born of James M and Mary Ann (Renfer) Stewart in Jackson, Michigan on December 11, 1936. He was educated at St John's School, grades 1 through 12, in Jackson and later attended the University of Detroit and finally Michigan State University where he graduated with a BS in Mathematics and an MBA in Production Management. He served 3 years in the US Army and finally worked for and retired from IBM after 25 years. He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Tom never married but had a life partner, Dan Kenneth Roberts of Detroit, for 22 1/2 years. The relationship ended when Dan passed away from Multiple Myeloma after being exposed to Agent Orange during his military service in Vietnam. He lived in Michigan, Texas and California over a span of 31 years. He moved back to Michigan from California in 2009 and lived in Lansing until his passing.
No memorial service is planned, and his ashes will be spread in the Grayling, Michigan area and from the shore of Lake Superior. Anyone interested in attending these events should contact Ann Marie Abraham for further information. He asks that you plant a tree or some perennial flowers in his memory.
