We gather today in remembrance of Tomas Lopez De Leon, a devoted husband, father, and community member whose life was marked by love, dedication, strength and hard work.
Born in Donna, Texas, Tomas lived a full life of 92 years, defined by his commitment to family and the values that bring communities together.
He was married to Lydia Candanoza De Leon for an extraordinary 72 years, a partnership built on mutual respect and deep love.
Together they raised six beloved children, José Tomas De Leon (Elena), Maria Elena De Leon De La Fuente, Juan Leonel De Leon (Mary Lou), Jorge Luis De Leon, Olga Lidia De Leon Martinez (Moises) & Jose Joaquin De Leon (Irene).
Tomas's legacy lives on in his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, each a reflection of the strong roots he planted.
He is also survived by his sister, Ramona Guerrero de Godina and brother Jesus Guerrero, whose lives were enriched by his enduring love and support.
Tomas was known for his kindness, sense of humor, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
May his life continue to inspire all who knew him.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 27, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Salinas Funeral Home Weslaco - Chapel of The Heavens with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service. A 10:00 AM Funeral Service is scheduled for Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at Salinas Funeral Home Weslaco - Chapel of The Heavens. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna, TX.
