Tommy Ray Bozeman
1938-2025
Tommy Ray Bozeman, 86, of Pace, Florida passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Monday, February 24, 2025.
Tommy was born on June 10, 1938 in Sardis, Alabama to Travis Hill Bozeman and Allene Aryes Owens Bozeman.
On October 30, 1959, he married the love of his life, Brenda Joyce Howell.
Tommy served his country in the United States Army from 1961-1962 and was stationed in the Panama Canal Zone. After his time in the service, he worked for the Public Gas Company full time while beginning what would become his life's work by farming on the side.
Tommy began farming full-time after leaving the Public Gas Company in the early 1970's and would continue to do so until the age of 80. He continued to contribute to the farm in a reduced capacity until his health no longer allowed, helping his son and grandsons whenever possible, sharing knowledge, working on equipment, and hauling peanut trailers during harvest season. His primary crops were cotton and peanuts, but he also grew soybeans, wheat, and corn, and always had a summer garden with enough fresh vegetables to share with all his friends and family.
He was also actively involved in church. He attended Pace Assembly and First Assembly in Pensacola. In his early years at Pace Assembly he helped teach Sunday School, drove the church buses, and helped with many of the church functions.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Brenda Joyce Howell Bozeman; his daughter, Cheryl Bozeman Barnes (DuWayne) of Pensacola; his son, Steven Bozeman (Shelia) of Pace; his granddaughter Kristina Day; his grandsons, Garrett Day, Connor Bozeman, Cameron Bozeman (Katilyn); and his beloved great grandchildren, Killian Flannagan and Lydia Bozeman; beloved nieces and nephews; and a host of cherished and beloved friends.
Active pallbearers will be DuWayne Barnes, William Wendt, Connor Bozeman, Cameron Bozeman, Garrett Day, and Nathan Evans.
A special thank you to Erica Dake and the Vitas Healthcare team for taking such special care of Tommy these last few months.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tommy Bozeman's name to the missions' funds at Pensacola First Assembly or Pace Assembly.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Pace Assembly beginning at 9:30 a.m. and the funeral begins at 11:00 a.m.
