Tommy Lee Winston departed from this earthly life on January 24, 2025. He was born May 28, 1950 to the Union of Julius & Lizzie Winston, of Jonestown Ms. Tommy was a beloved father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. Most people knew Tommy aka Duck a Luck.
He was truly loved and will be greatly missed. He was a Great Mechanic and also a Great and Wonderful Chef. He was a chef at the Holiday Inn, Ramada Inn and the Salvation Army where he retired from. Tommy was a wonderful person to be around, he always kept people laughing, loved to dance and loved his music. In his leisure time he loved sipping on his Colt 45 and telling funny jokes.
Tommy Leaves to cherish his precious memories his Dad; Julius Winston of Freeport, IL, Sisters; Catherine (Sampson) Pegee, Emma Baker, Lisa Winston, all of Freeport. Brother; Cedric (Mary) Winston of Freeport, IL. Children; Tommy (Renee) Winston of Columbus, OH, Shirley (Moses) Winston Simmons of Benton Harbor, MI, Shalisa (Tyrone) Winston Davis of Houston TX, Cortez Winston of San Bernadino, CA, Mia Winston, Malik Thomas, Mekila Winston all of Freeport, IL, Stepchildren Bobby Green of Detroit, MI, Mark (Tronina) Whitehead of North Richland Hills, TX, Eric Whitehead of Freeport, IL. as well as 28 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, and host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Tommy was preceded in death by his mother, Lizzie Winston, Brothers Fadeale, Willie and John Winston, Sisters, Minnie Brown, Virginia Winston, God Brother Terrence Brooks and special friend Johnetta Strong.
Funeral services will be 12:00 pm Saturday February 8, 2025. Visitation 11:00 am until the time of service at the Church. Rev. Charles D. Threadgill will officiate. Burial will be in Freeport City Cemetery.
