I first met Tommy in late 2013 at Brixx Pizza for a small car meet. He wasn´t there when we first arrived, but as I exited the restaurant, I saw this super clean looking blue GTO. I was asking the other guys who´s car is this and no one seemed to know, suddenly this guy with a Dukes of Hazzard Hat, a long Goatee, and a Monster Energy Drink came out from behind it saying "Yeah its mine". After realizing we both had the same car, we kept in touch to talk about all things GTO related and other nonsense. Months later after realizing there were more of us in the area, Tommy started Upstate GTO. The crazy part is that the group grew really fast in no time, and this was all due to Tommy. Tommy treated EVERY single member of the group like they were family and there´s nothing he would not do for any of us and he would never ask or expect anything in return. He genuinely enjoyed helping and fellowshipping with others. Tommy had an amazing ability to network with everyone and effortlessly bring people together. We would have car meets every few months with a pretty decent turnout, but when Tommy announced he was coming, we had people show up from out of state to join us! It´s indescribable the way, the way he was able to lead and get people to come together just to hang out.

He has personally helped me on numerous occasions. When we first met, I had just moved to the Upstate and really didn´t know anyone in the area. He always told me if I needed anything let him know and he would be glad to help out. Sure enough, each time I called on him for something he always showed up and came through, and if he wasn´t able to help me himself, he always knew a guy! I met so many people through Tommy and made some great friends with lasting relationships and I owe it all to him. I just want to say, thank you for the brotherly love and what you´ve done for us all. You truly set an example of the meaning of family, love, and how to treat others. We love you and will miss you. GOD bless you Smith family.
