Tommy Joe Smith, a cherished member of the community, passed away on June 7, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on March 18, 1951, Tommy lived a life that was characterized by his unwavering loyalty and trustworthiness, qualities that endeared him to many throughout his years.
Tommy was a passionate lover of music, often known for his enthusiastic spirit during concerts. He attempted to attend Woodstock and enjoyed sitting back and listening to music loud and proud, savoring the melodies that enriched his life. This love for music was a defining aspect of his personality, bringing joy not only to himself but also to those who had the pleasure of sharing those moments with him.
Tommy is survived by his loving wife, Wendolyn Smith, who stood by his side through all of life's journeys. His legacy lives on through his son, Jeff (Rhonda) Smith, and his grandchildren: Morgan (Brett) Boone, Ryan Smith, and Lauren (Michael) McEwing. Tommy was also a proud great-grandfather to Harper Boone, who brought him much joy. He is also survived by his brother, Alan Smith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Doshia Smith, and his brother, Jerome Smith.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Tommy's life at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home and Cremation Services in White House, TN. Visitation will be held on June 20, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life from 6:00 PM.
