Tommy Earl Thomas, age 79, of Atlanta, Texas, passed from this life into Heaven on May 25, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 25, 1945 to Tommy V. and Louise Thomas. Tommy's greatest treasure in life was his large family. He loved and helped anyone that he crossed paths with. Tommy attended church at Center Hill Baptist Church until his health kept him at home.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Thomas; brother, John Thomas; his wife of 44 years, Peggy; and his wife of 14 years, Karen Hale Thomas.
Left to keep his legacy alive, though he leaves very big shoes to fill, are his four daughters, Shane Blair, Karen Navarro (Lupe), Sharon Foster (Jeff), Lisha Woods (Mike); eighteen grandchildren, Heather Brown (A.J.), Amanda Thomas, Brandon Blair (Alley), Ryan Boatman (Kristen), Brittney Eldridge, Bradley Eldridge, Joshua Morgan, Megan Clevenger (Jeremy), Ciara, Tuff and Daisy Navarro, Jacob, Brynn, Keeley, Jackson, Jayse, Jansen, Jett Foster; sixteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brothers and sisters, Reba Horton, Billy Thomas, Bobby Thomas, Jeannie Thomas, Judy Arnold, Carol Smith, long time sister friend, Delight Sqyres; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family including the numerous extras he helped raise through the years. He was Papaw to everyone and loved with all of his heart.
Funeral services will be 3:00 pm, Wednesday, May 29, 2024 in the Hanner Funeral Service Chapel, with Bro. Donald Sheffield officiating.
Visitation will be 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at Hanner Funeral Service.
Interment will be in Huffines Cemetery.
