Toni Michelle Portis, went home to be with the Lord on June 3, 2025. Born on June 28, 1966, in St. Clair, Michigan, she was the cherished daughter of the late Alline Portis and Jesse Davis.
Toni's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and faith.
The years of her life were filled with the love and laughter of a family (at large) who cares deeply for one another. She grew up alongside her siblings Richard Graves, Lillian "Phyllis" Dixon, Felicia Portis, Marie Portis, Joseph (Dawn) Portis, and Ramona Portis. The bond she had with her siblings, family and friends was unbreakable and carried her through all of life's seasons.
Toni was employed at Aludyne for many years before her illness, where she built special relationships with her co-workers. She attended school in the Port Huron Area School District where she also participated in sports.
She was the mother of three wonderful children. Allina Portis of Chesterfield, MI, Thomas Portis of San Diego, California, and Teana Portis of
Port Huron, MI, who meant the world to her.
Her grandsons, Bryson and Omar Portis brought her immense joy. She loved every moment spent with them. She was their biggest supporter and protector.
Toni's love story continued with her fiancé, Derrick Adams, with whom she shared a deep connection. Together, they navigated life's challenges and celebrated its joys, looking forward to a future filled with happiness together.
Toni was a devoted member of Historic Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, where she found strength in her relationship with God. She loved her church family and looked forward to being in the house of the Lord every week. She was a woman of faith and ALWAYS being a source of light, hope, and positivity to those around her.
Toni loved being with her family making memories and having fun. She enjoyed attending events for her grandchildren as well as her great-nieces and nephews, who were like her grandchildren. She had a special relationship with each one and did not play about them. She had a way of spoiling and nurturing all her family. She even gave them all crazy nicknames. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, and dice games like Yahtzee.
She was preceded in death by her brother: Denell Portis and two sisters: Debra Fuchs and Dawn Elizabeth Portis.
She leaves behind a multitude of VERY SPECIAL nieces, nephews, cousins, Aunt: Patricia (Clarence) Duckworth, Uncle Thomas Portis, two bonus sisters: Heather Zech and Denise Kish, and many more dear friends, all of whom will cherish her memory and were blessed by her life.
