Marie Toinette "Toni" Woodruff (October 16, 1938 – October 20, 2025) We celebrate a beautiful life-a life lived fully and faithfully for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Toni was an extraordinary woman. Though she may have described herself as shy, there was nothing timid about the way she lived her faith. From the time she gave her heart to Jesus Christ, she dedicated every day, every gift and every ounce of her energy to serving Him.
For 36 years, she worked diligently for Seagate in Accounts Payable, and when she retired, she didn't stop working-she simply shifted her time into new forms of service. She became the church secretary, pouring her organizational gifts into helping the church, always with a cheerful spirit and a servant's heart.
But her ministry extended far beyond office walls. In her spare time, she shared Christ in some of the most unique and joyful ways. She joined the clown ministry, bringing laughter, hope and the light of the gospel to foster children who desperately needed to know they were loved. She ministered faithfully in children's church, teaching little ones about Jesus with gentleness and joy. Through music, she lifted hearts-playing the piano and organ with devotion and singing with a voice that reflected her love for the Lord. She went on mission trips, stepping outside her comfort zone to share the good news around the world. Wherever she went, she carried the message of God's love. Truly, not a day went by that she wasn't proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ.
What made her remarkable wasn't only what she did, but who she was. She radiated kindness, humility and steadfast faith. Her life was anchored in unshakable trust in the Lord, and she poured that love into everything she touched. She cherished her twin daughters and five grandchildren as her greatest joys and living legacy, loving her family with the same wholehearted devotion with which she served Christ.
She lived out the words of 2 Timothy 4: 7-8 "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day – and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing." Today, we rejoice knowing she is with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ whom she loved so dearly.
Yes, our hearts are heavy. We will miss her laugh, her encouragement, her prayers, and her example. But we also celebrate. Because we know this isn't the end of her story. She has simply entered into her eternal reward, reunited with loved ones who have gone before and most of all,in the presence of Jesus Christ.
If Toni could speak to us today, I believe she would remind us of the gospel she proclaimed every day of her life-that Jesus loves us, that His grace is enough, and that eternal life is found in Him alone. And she would encourage us to carry on the work she so faithfully began: to love others, to serve with joy, and to never be ashamed of the gospel.
Her life was a testimony. Her legacy is one of faith, love and service. And though her earthly journey has ended, her impact will live on in her family, in the countless children she ministered to, and in each of us who were blessed to know her.
Today, we say goodbye, but only for a time. Because in Christ, we know we will see her again. "Well done, good and faithful servant " Matthew 25:21
