Tonia Renee Darby, beloved wife, mother, daughter, and grandmother, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 9th surrounded by the love of her family. Her age, as she would have preferred, is better left unknown.
Renee was born in Brookhaven, Mississippi and was raised in Grenada, where she attended school and began building a life rooted in faith, family, and compassion. She was the devoted wife of Ted Darby for 44 beautiful years, and together they raised two daughters who were the pride of her life.
Renee was a woman whose heart reflected her faith. She lived each day with a spirit of grace and compassion, sharing laughter, encouragement, and unconditional love with everyone she met. She is survived by her loving husband, Ted Darby; daughters, Ashley Nicole Darby Clarkson (Jose) and Taylor Ann Darby Johnsen (Kyle); her cherished mother, Jo Ann Baker Myrick; and her three treasured grandchildren, Logan, Brandon, and Emma, who brought her endless joy. Her faithful dogs were also among her greatest companions and sources of comfort.
She is preceded in death by her father, Rex Baker; her brother, Tony Baker; her sister, Terri Baker Moak; and her beloved grandparents, James "Bird" and Ruth Williams. Though she will be deeply missed here on Earth, her family takes comfort knowing she is reunited with loved ones in Heaven and resting in the peace of her Savior.
A celebration of Renee's life will be held on Saturday, November 15th at 1:00 p.m. at Victory Baptist Church in Hernando, Mississippi. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Calvary Rescue Mission. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Tonia, please visit our floral store.
