Tony Webster Brazell, aged 91, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and kindness. Born in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, he was the cherished son of the late Troy and Willie Tuberville Brazell. A devoted member of Welsh Neck Baptist Church in Society Hill, South Carolina, Tony's faith and community involvement were cornerstones of his life.
He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and, after retirement from the Town of Cheraw, continued to engage with his community through his work at KFC and Walmart. Tony was a dedicated member of Masonic Lodge #15 in Cheraw, where he formed lasting friendships.
Tony had a passion for fishing and enjoyed spending time mowing the grass, activities that brought him joy. Known for his friendly demeanor, he never met a stranger and always greeted others with a smile.
He is survived by his step-sons, Henry (Bonnie) Griggs of Cheraw, SC, and Robert (Teressa) Griggs of Chesterfield, SC, as well as his step-daughter, Mary Jane (John) Duffy of Spring Lake, NC. Tony's family joyfully includes grandchildren, Lisa (Trae) Linton, Christina (Jason) Williams, Jewel Gulledge, Kristen (Drew) Sellers and Kennan Griggs and three great-grandchildren, Carol Shea Linton, Brielle Jewel Williams, and Nataleigh Sellers who will carry his memory forward.
Tony was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Brazell, his parents, and his sisters, Bobbie Jean Dugan and Jewel Howard.
His spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM -3:00 PM on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at Welsh Neck Baptist Church, Society Hill, SC.
A memorial service will follow at 3:00 PM on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at Welsh Neck Baptist Church, Society Hill, SC.
