Tony C. Gray, known affectionately as Tony to his family and friends, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2024, at the age of 32, in New York, NY. Born on February 14, 1991, in Staten Island, NY, Tony's early life was filled with the warmth of a loving family and the joys of the city he would always call home.
A man of laughter, intelligence, and wisdom, Tony's presence was a beacon of light for those who had the privilege of knowing him. His quick wit and insightful perspectives were matched only by the depth of his care for others. Tony had an innate ability to connect with people, bringing smiles and profound conversations to any gathering.
Tony dedicated his career to public service, wearing his badge with pride as an Auxiliary Sgt. at the 122 Precinct. His commitment to the community was unwavering, and his influence extended beyond his work as he involved himself in several associations, striving to make his city a safer and more connected place for all. Tony worked for the MTA at the time of his passing. There he met many friends and people that looked up to him.
Above all, Tony's most cherished role was that of a family man. He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy, and their two daughters, Olivia and Madison, who will forever remember him as a devoted father, full of life's wisdom and an endless supply of funny stories. Tony is also survived by his grandmother Alice Roberts. His mother, Cheri Roberts and His father,, Terry Gray, instilled in him the values of kindness and respect that he carried throughout his life. His brothers, Shamel, Terry, Dominick, and bonus brother Khiron Petersen, and sisters, Lovasia, Theresa, and Arianna, recall fond memories of their brother, whose guidance and humor enriched their lives. There are a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and loved ones who cherished Tony and the impact he had on them.
Tony's friends and family will remember him as a mentor and a friend, someone who could always be counted on for support and a hearty laugh. His passing leaves a void in the family that will be felt deeply and persistently.
Tony's life was a testament to the power of making a positive impact on those around him. His ability to blend humor with intelligence and wisdom was a gift that he shared generously, and the ripple effect of his kindness touched many lives. As we say goodbye to Tony, we celebrate the indelible mark he has left on this world.
His legacy will live on in the lives of his children, family, friends, and everyone who was privileged enough to have known him. Tony C. Gray was a remarkable man, and he will be profoundly missed by all who loved him. The memories of his extraordinary life will continue to inspire and comfort us as we navigate the future without his physical presence, but with the enduring spirit of love and joy he bestowed upon us.
