CLINTON — Tony Lee Spell Sr., 70, of 439 Cedar Lake Lane, passed away Friday, Nov. 14, 2025, at UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Nov. 18, at 2 p.m. at Royal-Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Parsons officiating. Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery with Masonic Rites.
Born in 1955 in Sampson County, Tony was the son of the late Wilbert Archie and Lillie Lee Sessoms Spell. He was a member of the Hiram Lodge #98 AF & AM and retired from MHC Kenworth in Clinton. He never met a stranger, he'd spend hours talking to anyone and everyone. He enjoyed spending time with his family and animals. When able, he never missed a cold morning in the duck swamp with Emily and Christopher. They loved to hunt with their dogs and ride the trails on their horses. Some of his favorite afternoons were spent in the recliner with his dogs, Phe and Hope, watching westerns.
Tony is survived by his wife, Sandra Lee Spell; two daughters, Emily Sims of the home and Crystal Spell of Raleigh; two sons, Tony Lee Spell Jr. (April) of Clinton and Christopher Sykes (Stefani) of Mt. Olive; one sister, Sylvia Blinson of Clinton; one brother, Wilbert Earl Spell (Lucy) of Youngsville; and two grandchildren,: Hadley Sykes and Camille Spell. In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by his first wife, Marilyn Spell.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to service beginning at 1 p.m. at Royal-Hall and other times at his sister's home at 100 Vista Drive, Clinton.
