With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Anthony Ray Torralba, a devoted father, grandfather, loving son, brother, uncle, dedicated police officer, and cherished friend. He left this world on March 15, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and unwavering faith.
Tony was born on December 2, 1970, in Crow Agency, MT, to Roland Torralba and Joyce LaForge. He graduated from Hardin High School in 1989, where he played football and built lifelong friendships. A hard worker from a young age, Tony's first job was at a local gas station, back when full service was provided. His strong work ethic and dedication to serving others led him to attend the police academy, where he became an officer with the Bureau of Indian Affairs Police Department. He proudly served for 12-15 years before retiring from the force, always upholding his duty with integrity and honor. He knew the job was hard, but his passion to help people was his driving force.
Tony was a Ties-The-Bundle and Greasy Mouth kid, proud to be an enrolled member of the Apsáalooke Nation and a descendant of the Comanche Nation. He carried the legacy of his ancestors, including Chief Pretty Eagle and White Clay on the Forehead from the Crow Nation and Quanna Parker of the Comanche Nation, with great pride.
Tony valued education and lifelong learning. He earned an associate's degree at the LBHC and became a certified EMT, always striving to gain knowledge to help his community. His dedication to learning and helping others was a core part of who he was.
Beyond his career and education, Tony had a deep love for fitness and the outdoors. He spent countless hours hiking, jogging, and running at the old Crow Fair Grounds, pushing himself to be his best. He was also known for his passion for cars-always owning the best and making sure they turned heads wherever he went.
More than anything, Tony loved his family. He was not only a father to his children but also a father figure to many nieces and nephews, helping to raise his brother's children and supporting them in their academic and athletic achievements. He never met a stranger, everyone was friend and family to him, knowing we all need to help one another.
His faith in God never wavered, and he worshipped until his very last day. Tony leaned on his friends as much as they leaned on him, loving many of them like his own siblings. In his last days and years, he spent time with family, doing the best he could with what he had to give each person he came across.
A good man has left us, but his legacy of love, loyalty, and service will live on in all who were blessed to know him. Rest in peace, Tony. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
