Tonya and I met when were 11 years old, in 5th grade, Kalispell, MT. We remained steadfast friends. Sure, over the years there were periods of time when we very rarely as we were busy raising kids, working, etc. But there was never any question about our devotion to each other and knowing we were each there for each other. She was the person I chose to tell about something awful that was happening to me and she didn't hesitate to speak the truth and help me take steps to make it stop. For the last three years of her life we were speaking daily and I'm so glad I was able to be there her when she was diagnosed. I miss speaking to her so, so much. I want to tell her the latest as I know she would be so happy to hear my good news. I really do miss you tremendously, my friend. It's just not fair your life got cut short.

I've known Tonya over 20 years. During that time we had home fellowship groups at their house. After our church split I reconnected with her about 9 months ago. I can say so much about her but it would take too long. She was definitely a Wonder woman who had a deep passion for life. She was very transparent and genuine and had no problem speaking her mind when she had to stand up for her convictions.
She fought a good fight and was relentless at overcoming obstacle after obstacle that was thrown her way. She was so excited when she obtained a really nice acoustic guitar and asked me if I would give her guitar lessons. We started doing lessons back in January and I told her that she was studio material. We started going out and doing karaoke. I actually didn't sing I was just there for support. She was pretty well known in all the karaoke venues in Spokane. As soon as she would walk in they would put her on the rotation. Her repertoire of songs was enormous. To me that was pretty crazy how she could remember lyrics from hundreds of songs. Her love for her children and grandbabies was unconditional. I was so glad that I had the opportunity to spend quality time with her during the last 9 months of her life on earth. She will be missed immensely and her legacy and memories will live on forever. My condolences go out to her children grandbabies and her family and close friends.

My deepest sympathies to Tonya's children. She loved them with her entire being. Tonya loved fiercely. At one point in my life she was the closest person to me. She was one of the strongest women I've ever met. Ultimately, she helped give me the strength to leave a life or death situation. She fought cancer so hard and was never afraid. God I love her. I know she's raising hell in heaven. Singing and laughing and taking charge of all of the angels. I'm so glad we told each other that we love each other forever and always and put our petty nonsense aside. I wish I could have another daily long walk with her and listen to all of the men whistling at her and her long blonde hair.

My crazy wonderful friend asked me years ago to go with her to get a tattoo. Somehow she talked me into getting the same one that day. I´m so sad my tattoo twin has left this earth. The bright sunny days are a little dimmer with her gone. I cherish my memories of Tonya. What a force of nature she was. Until we meet again in heaven

Tonya was my wife of 19 years and has always been a wonderful wife and mother to our kids. I will miss her and always will have a place in my heart for her.
