Traci Fidler Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Heritage Funeral Home & Cremation Services - Panama City on Sep. 26, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Traci Ann Fidler, 63, of Panama City, was received in the arms of Jesus on Thursday, September 25, while surrounded by family in her home.

She was born on January 5, 1962, in Salina, KS, to her parents, James Lincoln Coxwell and Anna Belle Evans. As a military child, she spent time Kansas, Germany, Tampa, and eventually called Panama City home.

Traci was a graduate of Rutherford High School. She began working as an intern with the Bay District School Board while still in high school. She worked faithfully at the county office, Shaw Adult Center, Haney Technical Center, and eventually at the Nelson Building. She retired after more than 35 years of service to the school district, most recently as Administrative Assistant to the Deputy Superintendent.

While she loved her work family, her true passions were clear. She married her high school sweetheart, Bucky. They shared a rare love for one another that only deepened throughout their lives together. Her passion for her family was unmistakable, always marked by a listening ear and warm encouragement. That same warmth extended to her grandchildren, as they felt the unwavering love of their sweet "T".

While faithfulness and love were the hallmarks of her life, her greatest love was Jesus. She was a beloved member of Carlisle Baptist Church, where she served in various areas of the church's life and ministry. Her love for lighthouses was a fitting representation of her faith. She trusted the safety of her heavenly Father's oversight, and her smile beamed His joy and presence to all around.

She is preceded in death by her father, James Coxwell, Sr., and her second dad, Billy Pitts.

Those who will continue to cherish her memory and continue her legacy are her loving husband of forty-five years, Byron "Bucky" Fidler; a daughter, Leah Marchbanks (Brad); a son, Josh Fidler (Emily); five grandchildren, Sarah Buckles (Nathan), Eli Fidler, Kate Fidler, Layla Marchbanks, and Aubrey Marchbanks; by her Mama, Ann Pitts; by her brothers, Jimmy Coxwell (Sarah), Bruce Pitts (Linda), Johnny Pitts (Cindy), Thomas Fidler, Randy Fidler (Pat), and Mike Malausky (Suzanne); an "adopted Dad," Willard Anderson, an "adopted sister," Debra Armstrong, an "adopted son," Robert Davis, and by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Additionally, she is survived by countless friends and coworkers who have become family due to her kindness and love.

The family will receive friends on Monday, September 29, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, September 30, at 2:00 PM at Carlisle Baptist Church, with Rev. Randy Kuhn officiating. Interment will follow immediately after at the Garden of Memories.

Those serving the family as pallbearers will be: Bobby Birdsell, Jimmy Coxwell, Brian Daniels, Robert Davis, Al Hartzog, Robert Heath, Brad Marchbanks, and Ray Pierson.

I knew Traci way back to when she started working at the old Sch Bd Building. Always a kind positive sweet young gal. I remember when we hired Traci full time. I followed her thru all of her career with our Sch Bd. She was excellent worker. She always showed her Christian life and she loved us all. My heart is heavy to know she has left us. She was such a joy to be a co-worker to work around and within our School system. Sending my condolences to her family .
Josh, I remember when your Mother was carrying you and you were born. We have lost a wonderful person. Traci, I know u r in Heaven and preparing for all your family and friends. I will see u one day in Heaven. U know I loved you precious one.
God Bless to All!
