FEURA BUSH - Tracy A. Geel, 79, of Tarrytown Rd., and formerly of Waterford, passed away peacefully after a courageous 10-year battle with cancer, surrounded by her loved ones, on Thursday, June 26, 2025. Born September 28, 1945, in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Evelyn VanValkenburgh McGarry. Tracy was a 1963 graduate of Waterford High School. She lived in Feura Bush with her loving husband, Robert Geel, for the past 28 years.
Tracy worked for Morrison Dental Care as Dr. Morrison's dental assistant, retiring after 20 years in 2010. She was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Waterford. An avid "BeeGees" fan, she had many passions in life, including her love for reading, her Irish heritage, her love for animals (especially dogs), and the love she had for her children and grandchildren
Tracy is the loving wife of Robert Geel. She is the caring mother to Rebecca Futia (Michael) of Guilderland and Richard Herzog III (Nicole) of Waterford. She is the sister of the late Robert McGarry. She is the proud grandmother of Talia Futia (Jayden Seeley), Dominick Futia, Holli Herzog and MacKenzie Herzog. She is the lifelong friend of Fran Santspree Cullett. Also surviving are several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at 7 p.m., at Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte. 32), Waterford.
Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 4-7 p.m., prior to the service.
