A memorial service celebrating the life of Tracy Alan Spurrier, Sr., age 73, of Newark, will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 19, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Pastor Eric Krieg officiating.
Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street in Newark.
Tracy was born August 6, 1948 in Cambridge, Ohio. He passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Licking Memorial Hospital.
Tracy was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of the West End Church of Christ and the Moose and was a former member of the Thornport Amvets Post 51. He enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians, and Ohio State sports. He also enjoyed playing Euchre, spending the winters in Florida with Dixie, and watching his grandkids at their sporting and dancing activities.
He is survived by two sons, Tracy (Ashley) Spurrier of Heath and Trevor Spurrier of Zanesville; his mother, Rita (Swartz) Spurrier of Zanesville; three grandchildren, Lexi, Trey and Logan Spurrier; and his significant other and best friend, Dixie Hoskinson.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis Spurrier.
