TRACY JOSEPH TERNES was born March 29, 1965 in Bismarck, ND to Victor F. and Valeria Mary (Fleck) Ternes. He graduated from Flasher Public High School in 1983, and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from North Dakota State University. Tracy competed in calf roping and team roping at many 4-H, in high school, and jackpot rodeos while in high school and college. He worked for the United States Postal Service during his college years; and then as an engineer for Iowa Beef Processors, Inc. in Dakota City, NE. He later served as a Technical Representative with Birko Corporation out of Henderson, CO for many years. Prior to his most recent surgery, he was a marketing director for Emerson Manufacturing in Emerson, NE. Tracy lived in Hubbard, NE until February of 2006, when he moved back to North Dakota to be closer to his family. Tracy was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus in Emerson, NE. He loved horse racing, antique tractors, golfing, and organizing and hosting events for his family and friends. Although Tracy was never married, family -- especially his nieces Karmen, Hatti, and Lexi; and his nephews Kyle and Jess; were dearly important to him. Keeping him in their fondest memories are his parents, Victor and Mary Ternes, Raleigh, ND; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Farley and Cindy Ternes, Flasher, ND; Stuart and Tammy Ternes, Bismarck, ND; and Flint Ternes and friend Hernandez, Los Angeles, CA; nieces Karmen Ternes, Hatti Ternes, Lexi Ternes, and nephews Kyle Ternes and Jess Ternes. Tracy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alex and Rose Fleck; and Emanuel and Aurora Ternes. A memorial has been established.
