Travis Eugene Alexander, Jr., 86, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, July 29, 2025. He was born on August 15, 1938, in Beaumont, to Bernice Arlo Howard Alexander and Travis Eugene Alexander.

Travis graduated from Beaumont High School in 1956 and Lamar Tech in 1963 with a Degree in Electrical Engineering. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and owner of Smith Belting & Electric Supply Company in Beaumont.

Travis loved his hobbies which included movies, music and electronics. When he wasn't taking his family to the movies or watching movies in his home living room theater he would be blaring a symphony or tinkering with electronics. Even as a teenager and through adult hood he always wanted to learn how something worked. This paid off in his later years when his family grew up and he was always available to come over and fix whatever was needed. He was a great problem solver that was always willing to lend a hand to family and friends.

Travis loved his family, each and every one of them, especially his wife Lurlene. They had an old fashioned marriage for the vast majority of their years together where Lurlene took great care of him. However, for the last few years of their 60 year marriage to his ailing wife, Travis showed how much he loved her with the reversal of roles where he was the caretaker. He showed the family what true love and commitment really is to the very end of his life.

Survivors include his wife, Lurlene Alexander; children, Ethel Bulgherini and her husband, Joseph; Rosa Cegielski; and Mark Alexander and his wife, Heather; grandchildren, Christopher Mazzu and his wife, Madoka; Justin Cegielski; Jaclyn King and her husband, Caleb; Benjamin Bulgherini and his wife, Katie; Brittani Moran and her husband, Caden; and Abigail Alexander; great-grandchildren, Myah, Reina, Nash, Kaito, and Tessa; sister in-law, Carolyn Morrison; and brother, John Alexander and his wife, Shirley.

He is preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Bernice Beaird and Arthur Beaird; and father, Travis Alexander.

Our sincerest sympathies. Travis and Lurlene were such wonderful people to be around. I remember spending many hours visiting them at the shop, with my Dad, Glenn, as a child, and later as an adult. Travis was always such a wonderful and encouraging example for me. Prayers for the entire family.
