Travis and I first met in 1993 at Bill & Billy's Cue Club in Arnold, MD. He was 18 and I was 19. We worked next door to each other. He worked at Adam's Ribs, and I worked at Eastport Cinemas. He usually worked mornings through dinner, where I worked mostly evenings. He would bring dinner to the theater, and sometimes stay for a movie (or if there were no movies, we would play frisbee). Our biggest vices back then were Big Red gum and Mountain Dew. Travis always had a love of gadgets, and the dark (his room was in the basement of the house he rented).
Fortunately, time allowed us the opportunity to reconnect into our 40s, where we got to see the people we became. He was a proud father, and loved watching his boys grow into men. TJ fulfilled one of his own desires of a career in law enforcement. In the short time we spent together we attended concerts, tried new restaurants, explored and revisited parts of Maryland; and got to do some of these things with all our boys (Ravens games, naval academy, Ft. McHenry, 6 Flags, and even Great Wolf Lodge in Georgia. Quiet nights were always a favorite time of streaming shows, playing pool, darts, and having hours of conversation. Travis is the most non-judgmental and diverse man I have had the pleasure to know.
The first movie we ever saw together was Ground Hog´s Day. The last concert we saw together was 311 and Offspring. We sat in the endzone for a Dallas game, I was with him when he met Maria Brink. He introduced me to WWE (something he enjoyed doing especially with Trevor) and taught me everything I know about football (by watching games together and watching him play Madden).
Travis had the biggest heart of anyone I ever met. His sense of humor and sarcasm always brought smiles to me. For those he let into his circle, he had the greatest love and respect. I love that I am a part of this circle. He will be forever missed and always remembered.
