Obituary published on Legacy.com by Stringer Family Funeral Homes on Feb. 2, 2026.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Travis Jay Giles, who left this world on January 23, 2026, at the tender age of 18. Born on November 7, 2007, in Brookhaven, Mississippi, Travis was a bright light in the lives of everyone who knew him. His journey on this Earth may have been brief, but his impact was immeasurable.

Travis was the Only beloved son of Joshua B. Giles and Dorothy Case, A cherished step-son of Haley McManus, and was enveloped in love by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal great grandfather, Howard Travis Giles; great grandmother, Ruby J. Giles; grandfather, Michael Steven Giles; uncle Zachary Daniel Giles; maternal grandfather, J. H. Case; and aunts, Shannon Holifield and Gina Covington, all of whom he held dear in his heart.

He is survived by his devoted father, Joshua B. Giles, his loving maternal mother, Dorothy Case, and his stepmother, Haley McManus. Travis leaves behind his four wonderful sisters, Faith, Kacie, Molly, and Ruby Giles, who were not only his siblings but also his best friends. He shared a special bond with each of them, serving as both a big brother and a caring confidant. His paternal great grandparents, Ruby and Pete Buford, his grandmother Patricia Giles, and maternal grandmother Ann Case will also remember him with love and fondness.

As a recent high school graduate, Travis had dreams that soared as high as his spirit. His ambitions for the future were bright, and he was ready to take on the world. Travis had a passion for life that was evident in everything he did. He loved nothing more than spending time with his sisters, sharing laughter and adventures that created lifelong memories. His love for the outdoors was reflected in his hobbies; he enjoyed hunting and fishing, which connected him with nature and brought him joy. Additionally, he had a special affinity for working on Harley Davidson motorcycles with his father, creating cherished moments filled with bonding and learning.

Travis's kindness, infectious smile, and unwavering spirit touched the hearts of so many. He was known for his ability to bring people together, whether through his friendships or the deep connections he fostered within his family. He had a way of making everyone feel valued and loved, and his memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
