Davis Funeral Homes & Memorial Park - Eastern Ave.Travis Michael Olmsted, 82, departed this life on January 27, 2026, in Las Vegas, NV and entered into eternal rest. Raised in Kensett, IA, Travis lived a life marked by dedication to his family, a strong spirit, and a gift for bringing laughter to those around him.
He made sure his children grew up in the church, faithfully taking them to services at St. Michael’s Orthodox Church, and teaching them the value of giving back by volunteering their time to help clean the church each weekend.
Over the years, he owned several successful pool halls and also worked as a chauffeur. He was also a proud Air Force Veteran. Travis was known for his quick wit, sharp sense of humor, and constant stream of jokes. He watched sports, enjoyed golfing, and had a special place in his heart for dogs, always rescuing and caring for them. He was especially known for keeping close to those he loved through frequent phone calls.
His presence, laughter, guidance, and love for his family were true blessings in the lives of many.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn; his children, Travis (Joanna) and Dawn Dean; his grandchildren, Skye, Kali, Travis, Jace, and Arayah; his sister, Helen Neibauer; his sister-in-law, Jean Olmsted; his brothers-in-law, Thomas (Marie) Haddad and Louis Haddad; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Julia Olmsted, and his brothers, Dennis, Ferris, Douglas, and Evans Olmsted.
May God grant His servant Travis rest among the righteous, and may his memory be eternal.
