Trent P. McDonald, 61, of Wilton, NH, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 5, 2025. He was born on October 31, 1963, in Lorain, Ohio, to parents Joe and Joette (Lassiter) McDonald.
Trent graduated from Ohio State with a bachelor's degree in mathematics. He went on to work for the Federal Aviation Administration for over 30 years before his retirement. He was an active member of the Wilton Lions Club and was a past president of the group. In his free time, Trent had many hobbies he enjoyed. He was very active and was an avid runner and enjoyed going for walks with his dogs. He also spent time hiking. He was an excellent skier, enjoying the local mountains in NH and recently had taken a trip to Colorado to ski with his brother. He also enjoyed swimming.
Trent was a self-taught musician and played the trumpet and piano. He recently began branching out into singing and was learning the guitar and drums. He was a developing composer and had written in several different genres of music. Trent was very artistic and talented at drawing and had even done several self-portraits. He was an author as well and often featured his art in his books. He was a talented photographer and enjoyed astrology, combining these two interests by taking pictures of the night sky.
He was a lover of animals and took great care of his boxer dogs, cats, and parrot. He and his wife enjoyed spending time at their home in Cape Cod.
He is survived by his wife Diane Foss of Wilton, NH; his parents Joe and Joette McDonald of Vermillion, OH; his brother Shane McDonald and his wife Patricia of Malvern, PA; his sisters Melodye McDonald of OH, Dawn Grygier and her husband Dale of OH; as well as several nieces and nephews.
At this time, no services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Wilton Lions Club, PO Box 513 Wilton, NH 03086.
