REMEMBERING TRINITY LAUREN DEMPSEY

Trinity Lauren Dempsey was born on July 17, 2004, in Rochester, New York. She was the eldest of two children and from an early age carried herself with a quiet confidence, kindness, and a free spirit that left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Trinity attended school in Rochester, New York, where she graduated from PUC Achieve Charter Middle School in June of 2018. During this time, she was a member of the Monroe County Red Skin Cheerleading Team. In the summer of 2018, Trinity and her family relocated to Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where she attended North Forsyth High School.

While at North Forsyth, Trinity was an accomplished student-athlete, playing on the All-Conference Basketball and Volleyball teams. Her dedication and athletic excellence earned her the Female Athlete of the Year Award for the 2021–2022 school year. Trinity graduated from North Forsyth High School in May of 2022.

Trinity took her education seriously and remained focused on the goals she set for herself. She enrolled at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where she was pursuing her degree with determination and pride. She was eagerly looking forward to graduating in May of 2026 with honors, building a future rooted in purpose and independence. In honor of Trinity, her mother will be receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts with a concentration in Sculpture and Ceramics, with Honors, on her behalf.

Trinity had a gentle soul and a free spirit. Her presence brought light, warmth, and peace to everyone she encountered. She found deep joy in nature, often feeling most at home surrounded by its beauty and quiet strength. She genuinely appreciated the purity and simplicity of life and all of its inhabitants.

Family meant everything to Trinity. She carried a deep, unwavering love for those closest to her, both near and far. She treasured moments filled with laughter, meaningful conversations, and togetherness. Trinity especially enjoyed playing games with her younger cousins, who looked up to her with admiration.

She adored her mother, Chariek Ball, with whom she shared a deep, kindred connection one that required no words. She shared an unbreakable bond and unconditional love with her brothers, Christopher Carter Jr. and Jadriel Dempsey. Her grandmother Gina, whom she lovingly called "Momma," was her refuge and safe place. Trinity was also deeply loved by her grandmother Dee Dee, who held a special place in her heart. She shared a sisterly bond with her aunties Asia Ball and Shakay Sharp, connecting in ways only sisters could.

Trinity valued her friendships deeply, nurturing them with kindness, loyalty, and grace. She had a rare way of making people feel seen, heard, and truly loved. Her smile could light up any room, and her laughter carried a softness that lingered long after the moment passed.

Trinity was confident not in arrogance, but with beauty, grace, and assurance. She knew who she was and what she stood for. Her spirit was contagious, drawing others toward her effortlessly. Wherever she went, people felt her love, her kindness, and her peace. It was natural, effortless, and a true gift.

On December 21, 2025, Trinity Lauren Dempsey went home to be with the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her father, Johnathon Dempsey; uncle, DeBo; great-grandfather, Clarence Sharp Jr.; Aunt Joy; great-aunt Dorrice Green; and great-great-grandmother, Winnie Williams.

She leaves to cherish her beautiful memory: Chariek Ball (mother); Christopher Carter Jr. (brother); Jadriel Dempsey (brother); Regina Washington (Momma); Curtis Washington (Granddad); Dee Dee (grandmother); Christopher Carter Sr.; Clinton Ball (BaeBae); Catina Edwards (Momma T); Shaun Edwards (uncle); Great-Grandmother Patricia Sharp; Asia Ball (Auntie); Richard Kimbrew (Uncle and Godfather); Rydel, Ashton, and Rylie Kimbrew (cousins); Shakay Sharp (Auntie); Dakota, Denver, and Dallas (cousins); Toya (Aunt); Ebony (Aunt); Shanell (Aunt); and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends.

We also lovingly recognize those who held a special place in Trinity's heart: Ramatoulaye Mall (close friend); Ashley Halpern and Nazareth Blair (best friends); Alona Key; Jahmese Sharp; Mekhai Bryant; and Joshua Baker (close cousins).

"With lovingkindness have I drawn thee."
