Michael Hurtle Sr.

Michael E. Hurtle, Sr., 70, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2011. Michael was born, January 3, 1941, to Edward and Teresa (Berta) Hurtle. He was a Union Carpenter with Local #413 and a supervisor with Woodcox Building Contractor in South Bend, Indiana. On November 3, 1962, Michael married Lois Meyerhoefer who survives. Surviving with his wife of 48 years are his children, Michele M. Feece of Walkerton, Indiana, Michael E. Hurtle, Jr. of Edwardsburg, Michigan, Mark A. Hurtle of Mishawaka, Indiana; grandchildren, Justin Hurtle, Tyler Hurtle, Gretchen Hurtle, Michael Hurtle, III, Grace Hurtle, Jacob Feece, Blake Feece, and Olivia Feece. Michael loved his grandchildren. He also loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, and gardening. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at the Kaniewski Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
