Troy Paul "Pops" Martin

Troy Paul Martin, lovingly known as "Pops", passed away peacefully at The Crossing on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at the age of 92, just two days before his 93rd birthday. He was a native of White Castle and longtime resident of Plaquemine. Troy was an Army Veteran and retired self-employed carpenter who built many homes in the area over his 50-year career.
Troy was cremated and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
Troy is survived by his biological children; Troy Martin Jr and wife Peggy, Joann "Tee Dee" Gipson, David Martin, Nicole Bruno and husband Mike, Jamie Martin and fiancée Tabatha Hebert, Derick Martin and Ashley Martin and fiancé Nathan Ezernack; stepchildren, Myrna Badeaux, Joan Barbier, Elaine "Willie" Cazes and husband Wilson, Stephanie Lambert and Robert Landry and wife Theresa; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Troy was preceded in death by his son, Michael "Big Mike" Martin Sr.; parents, Theodore and Nary Gaudet Martin; siblings, TJ Martin, Shirley Parker, Manuel Martin, Faye Harris, Augustus Martin, Huey Martin, Vera Martin and Ronnie Martin.
Troy enjoyed being outdoors at "The Camp" and loved fishing. He mostly enjoyed spending time with his family. In his later years, he spent time crawfishing with his best friend, CJ.
Pops was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
