Troy Dewayne Philson was born on December 9, 1964, in Sacramento, California, to the union of Sammy and Yvonne D. Philson. He was the oldest of two children.
Troy was raised in Baton Rouge and Oakdale, Louisiana, where he attended East Baton Rouge Parish Public Schools. He was known for his kind heart, friendly smile, and love for family. Troy enjoyed spending time with loved ones and always found a way to bring laughter and warmth to those around him.
Troy leaves to cherish his memory five sisters: Honora M. Philson of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Sandy Belton of Amite, Louisiana; Debra (Roosevelt) Johnson of LaPlace, Louisiana; Karen Philson; and Tiffany Woodard. He also leaves behind three brothers: Michael Philson (Brenda) of Arkadelphia, Arkansas; Sammy Philson Jr.; and Donald Philson.
Troy will be deeply missed by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Sammy and Yvonne Philson; grandmothers, Martha Gray and Isabell Arnaud; and grandfathers, Thomas Donahue and James Philson.
Though he is no longer with us in body, Troy's spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Family,

We share the blessing of having had Troy "GodGotMe" Philson as a part of our lives.
Troy was someone that had a presence so big everyone knew he was in the room,
whether he was using that big voice of his to be the loudest one or just checking out everything and everyone in the room in silence. Hold on to Troy's big presence and keep it close to your heart.
Troy touched our lives in a way that no one will ever be able to touch us again.
How do you say goodbye to someone who meant so much. You can't so you just say, I Love You. See You Later.
