Troy Lee Stapler, age 82 of Buchanan, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Birmingham, Alabama, on November 17, 1942, he was the son of the late Jack Stapler and the late Willie Belle Butler Stapler. In addition to his parents, Troy is preceded in death by daughters, Kristi and Amy Stapler and son, Lonnie Stapler, a granddaughter, Amy Aldridge; his sisters, Ann Smith, Reba Farmer, Claire Poor, Marie Carroll, and Linda Fay Rider, and his brothers, Johnny Stapler, Jimmy Stapler, and Donald Stapler.

Troy was a graduate of Mt. Zion High School and spent many years as a roofer taking care of people's homes in the West Georgia area. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and tending to his garden. Shooting pool at the HC Senior Center was one of his favorite pastimes, as well as throwing horseshoes with his friends. Troy's best times were spent with family. He dearly loved his wife Sarah, children and grands. He was a devoted member of the Tallapoosa Church of Christ.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 62 years, Sarah Ann Carroll Stapler; his daughters and sons-in-law, Stasia & Keith Addison of Bremen, Jill & Billy Aldridge of Buchanan, Talisa & Barry Gibbs of McMinnville, Tennessee, Wendy & Keith Harper of Mt. Zion, and . Linda & Bruce Manning of Arizona; his twelve grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a number of nieces, nephews and extended family.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at 2:00 PM from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Pastor Barry Gibbs officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until the funeral hour.
