Troy Clayton Wentz Jr, 77, died Monday July 1st, 2024 following a brief illness.
He was born April 16,1947 to the late Troy Clayton and Cynthia Mayfield Wentz in Concord NC. He had long career in building maintenance and was enjoying his retirement.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Wanda Wentz, grandson Christopher Cullen and his siblings, Judy Kelly, Donald Wentz and Cecil Wentz.
He is survived by daughter Marsha Gray and her husband David, daughter Shana Klitsch and her husband Timothy and his grandson Reed.
Dickie which is how he was known to his friends and family was a nickname he was given at birth by his beloved mother. He will be remembered as a person who was always laughing always smiling and always willing to offer a hand when needed. Dickie and his wife Wanda who he referred to as his "Wandaful wife" loved to travel together and took many trips making wonderful memories prior to her death. He was a loving husband and father who will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 1:00pm at Raymer-Kepner Chapel located at 16901 Old Statesville Road, Huntersville, NC 28078. Harrisburg Funeral & Cremation is serving the Wentz family.
