Trudy McElwain Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by J. L. Davis Funeral Home on Feb. 27, 2026.
Trudy Ann McElwain age 76, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and resident of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, passed away in her home on Tuesday, February 24, 2026.

Trudy was the heart of her family - steady, loving, and endlessly devoted. She found her greatest joy in time spent with those she loved most, whether gathered around the kitchen table sharing stories and laughter or simply enjoying the comfort of being together. Her warmth created an environment where everyone felt loved and cared for.

She also cherished the simple pleasures that made life beautiful. The beach was one of her happiest places, where the sound of the waves and the feel of the sun brought her deep peace. Her motto always was "one day at a time." At home, her beloved cats were constant companions, a reflection of her gentle and nurturing spirit. She was survived by her daughter Alicia Honodel (husband Stuart Honodel), son Scott McElwain (wife Lori McElwain), granddaughter Ashton Crampton (husband David Crampton Jr) and two great grand children Caroline and Trenten Crampton. Her lifelong friend Kimberly Robinson and her children will miss her greatly.

Trudy dedicated more than 40 years of faithful service to Napa Auto Parts, where her strong work ethic, reliability, and friendly nature earned her the respect and affection of coworkers and customers alike. She took great pride in her work and the relationships she built over the decades.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Jean Maun; her sister, Connie Kirk; and her nephew, Keith Kirk.

Those who knew Trudy will remember her kind heart, quiet strength, and the deep love she poured into her family. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched and in the generations who carry her love forward.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Trudy's life and honor the beautiful memories she leaves behind. Celebration of life date to be decided.
