Tupu Dacy

Tupu (Tigilau) Dacy of Vineland, NJ passed away suddenly on March 21, 2025 at the age of 82 surrounded by her loving family.
Tupu was born in Samoa in 1942, where her early life was steeped in the island's rich traditions, values, and heritage. She would attend grade school in the capital of Pago Pago, and would eventually move to Honolulu, Hawaii at the age of 18. During her time in Hawaii, she worked as a helper at the Naval Supply Center on the Pearl Harbor military base and made several lasting friendships. In 1968, she would move to Millville, NJ where she would work at Wheaton Injection Molding and raise her family.
Tupu had many meaningful relationships with her family and friends. She was known for her warmth, generosity, and contagious smile that could brighten anyone's day. Her deep sense of care and hospitality reflected the spirit of her island roots, always making others feel welcome and valued.
One of her favorite hobbies over the years was going to bingo nights at St. Mary Magdalen, St. John Bosco, and the Elks Club, all in Millville. She made many dear friends through those nights and often met up with them for lunch or day trips to Atlantic City. Tupu also found great joy in gardening her flowers and caring for the many pets she loved over the years, especially her beloved cats, Maui and Oscar. She enjoyed cooking as well, with her Christmas-time galumpkis and homemade apple cake becoming cherished family favorites. Above all, her favorite way to spend time was with her kids as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Nothing brought her more joy than hearing their laughter, sharing stories, and simply being surrounded by their love.
Tupu leaves behind a loving family who will carry her memory in their hearts: her children Esther (Dave) Armanini, Arlene Poepoe, Michael (Kim) Dacy, Leilani (Greg) Pilla, Tiva Dacy; her grandchildren Brian (Jamie) Pilla, Jeffrey (Kelly) Pilla, Joshua (Mia) Dacy, Lindsey and Ashley Armanini, Jada and Jenna Dacy, Jamie (Thomas), Jase, Wes, and Siara Kalawaia, and several great-grandchildren including Cordelia Pilla.
A funeral home visitation will be held on Friday, March 28th from 1pm to 3pm followed by a funeral service at 3:00 pm from Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland. Final disposition will be at the convenience of the family.
