Twyla Brown, born on June 8, 1941, in Anderson, Indiana, departed this life on December 26, 2025. She was a remarkable woman whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many around her.
Twyla was known for her humor, strength, and forthright nature. Friends and family alike always knew where they stood with her, as she had a way of expressing herself that was both honest and warm. A good God-fearing woman, Twyla held her faith close and regularly attended church, where she found joy and community.
Throughout her life, Twyla enjoyed numerous activities that brought her happiness. She was an avid dancer, often remembered for her spirited participation in the church's Valentine's dance, where she shared laughter and joy with those around her. One cherished memory recalls a Christmas party where she was dancing and having a great time; her aides adored witnessing this joyful side of her. In addition to her love for dancing, Twyla also had a fondness for playing cards and bingo, as well as dining out with loved ones.
Twyla took great pride in her family, particularly her grandchildren, and meeting each one of them was among her proudest accomplishments. She is survived by her daughter, Tonjes (Charles) Jackson, Denise Renecker; grandchildren, Joseph Renecker, Tenisha (Dewayne) Webb, Marquitta Weathers, Anthony Weathers, Anthony Bolden, and Danielle Scales; as well as great-grandchildren, Sereniti, Melody, Jayln, Haylie, Sharday, Ethan, Joseph Jr, Janiyah, Warren, Autumn, Andre, and Kierra.
Twyla is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Marie Haulk, and her son, Danny Renecker. She will be dearly missed.
Services for Twyla Brown will be from 11 am - 1 pm, Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, & Receptions, 925 E Hanna Ave, Indpls, IN 46227.
