Twyla Mae Halverson, 72, a resident of Fergus Falls, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2024, at Lake Region Healthcare, Fergus Falls surrounded by family from complications of more than a yearlong battle with cancer.
She was born on May 29, 1952, in Friberg Township of Otter Tail County, Minnesota, the daughter of Gordon and Alma (Ladwig) Supernois. She graduated from Pelican Rapids High School.
On June 7, 1986, she married Thomas Oliver Halverson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls.
Twyla waitressed at many different places in the Fergus Falls area. When she lived in Park Rapids, she managed an apartment building. She helped out with her husband’s automobile dealership while they lived in Menagha, MN. When they moved to Fergus Falls in their later years Twyla managed the Goodwill store.
She enjoyed quilting, cross-stitching, crafts, traveling with her husband across the US buying classic cars and the short time she had seeing her great-grandchildren. She loved vintage and new Disney movies. If anyone had questions about anything related to her interests, she was more than willing to answer them.
Preceding her in death were her parents; sister, Janice Luehring; and brother-in-law, Laurel Anderson.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas; two sons, Mick (Teresa) Hoeper of Vining, MN and Cory (Jihong) Hoeper of Spokane Valley, WA; step-daughter, Wendy Halverson of Owatonna, MN; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Glenda Anderson of Fergus Falls; and brother, Gary Supernois of Fergus Falls
Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at the Olson Funeral and Cremation Chapel, Fergus Falls with visitation one-hour prior to the service.
Clergy: Reverend Keith Ratcliffe
Interment: Oak Grove, Fergus Falls at a later date
