Tyjae Ayriel "Ya Ya" Flugence, 24, a native and resident of Houma, Louisiana passed away on May 8, 2024.
There will be a private memorial service held by her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Kerielle Monai Flugence; mother, Jodie K. Flugence; sisters, Tyrine Mickey, Tyann Mickey; brothers, Tyrone Mickey, Jr., Tyven Mickey; maternal grandmother, Patricia C. Flugence; paternal grandparents, Augustine Robilliard Mickey, and Albert Mickey, Sr. (Ruth Ann); aunts, Jerelyn Babineaux, Velma McKever, Quintus McKever; uncles, Patrick Flugence, Sr., Albert Mickey, Jr., Joseph Mickey, Jamie Mickey, Kenard McKever; and a host of family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Tyrone Mickey, Sr.; maternal grandfather, Edward Joseph Flugence; sister, Tyriel Mickey; and brother, Tyrus Mickey.
Tyjae, or "Ya Ya", as she was called by family and friends, was born in Houma, LA on July 8, 1999 to Jodie Flugence and Tyrone Mickey, Sr. At an early age, she graced those who knew her with her singing talent. Her very first solo was her rendition of "This Little Light of Mine" performed at Residence Baptist Church. Tyjae was given the name "Songbird" by Sister Bonnie Jean Jasper and eventually baptized by Pastor Howard Smith, Jr. She was educated in Terrebonne Parish and developed a love for reading and creative writing. On September 5, 2019, Tyjae gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Kerielle Monai Flugence, who became the joy of her life. Tyjae held various jobs in Houma and was a free-spirited young lady who lived life to the fullest until she departed this Earth on May 8, 2024. May the memories you have of her bring you comfort, peace, and strength. She has transitioned to a place where there is no pain, suffering, heartache, or sorrows.
