Tyrell Nathaniel Amey
August 20, 1984 – March 13, 2025
It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tyrell Nathaniel Amey, affectionately known as "Ty," on Thursday, March 13, 2025. He was born on August 20, 1984, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Karen Pittman and Nathaniel Amey.
Tyrell was the cherished only child of Karen Pittman. He attended Cleveland Public Schools and went on to build a career in the restaurant and hospitality management industry, dedicating a significant portion of his working years to notable establishments such as Arby's and LaMalfa Hotel. His work ethic and commitment to his job reflected his personality-dedicated, dependable, and hardworking.
Above all else, Tyrell was a devoted and loving father. His children-Tyana Amey, Ty'Shon Allen-Amey, Sherelle Allen-Amey, and Shervona Allen-Amey-were the light of his life. As a father, he was protective, kind-hearted, and filled with unconditional love for his family. He was also a loving fiancé to Christy Mason and a caring stepfather to Tra'Shon, Shemiere, and Tra'Shona Allen, as well as Reda, Stephen, and Stephanie Adkins.
Tyrell had an infectious personality and was known for his warm smile, laughter, and quick wit. His sense of humor could lift anyone's spirits, and he always knew how to make those around him smile. Ty enjoyed music, gaming, watching movies, and, most importantly, spending quality time with family and friends. His optimistic outlook on life and his zest for living were evident to everyone who knew him.
Tyrell's memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, including his beloved cousin, Tomeka Robinson (Antoine), a host of great aunts, great uncles, cousins, relatives, and friends.
Tyrell was preceded in death by his father, Nathaniel Amey; his mother, Karen Pittman; and his uncles, Timothy Thomas and Thomas Thomas Jr.
As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the life of a man who brought joy to all who knew him. He will forever be remembered for his kindness, his laughter, and the love he so generously shared.
