Tyrena M. Dunahoo

October 30, 1964 - February 25, 2024

Tyrena M. Dunahoo, 59, of Colona passed away Sunday, February 25, 2024, at her home.

A celebration of life will be 1:00-4:00 PM March 10, 2024, at the Colona Activity Center (617 8th Street, Colona).

Tyrena was born October 30, 1964, in Moline, IL, the daughter of Lena LaFerrara. She attended UTHS. Tyrena married her husband, of 44 years, William "Bill" Dunahoo, in Rock Island, IL. After high school Tyrena worked as a beautician for several years. She later worked as a receptionist at Rosewood Nursing Home and most recently at CMT (Creative Machining Technologies) in purchasing. She retired in 2007. Tyrena enjoyed cooking, baking, collecting candles and watching murder mysteries. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and filling them up with candy before sending them home.

Survivors include her mother, Lena Britt; husband, Bill; children: Tara Dunahoo (Josh Watters), Kristin Schatteman, Jaimee Haynie, Cody Dunahoo; and special niece, Katie Anderson; grandchildren: Dallas Schatteman, Audrey Schatteman, Aiden Haynie, and Allison Haynie; brother, Timothy Britt; and sister, Monica Wells.

Tyrena was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Evelyn LaFerrara; and an uncle, Harry LaFerrara.
