MR. TYRONE PAUL BURNETT age 60, was born in
Wrens, Georgia, on February 18, 1965. He was the beloved son of the late Alice Mae Mayo Smith and the late John Paul "JP" Burnett. On Monday, November 24, 2025, our dearly loved Tyrone peacefully passed away at his home.
Tyrone was known for his friendly spirit, sociable nature, and unforgettable sense of humor. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, and he proudly considered himself a true "grill master." When he wasn't grilling or riding, he could be found sharing stories-stories that always had a way of making everyone smile. In his later years, Tyrone traded his motorcycle for a golf cart and could often be seen riding around town, greeting everyone with a smile.
Tyrone attended Wrens High School and later graduated from the Brunswick Job Corps Center in Brunswick, Georgia, where he earned his certification as a welder. He spent several years applying those skills at the Kings Bay Submarine Base in St. Mary's, Georgia. After returning home to Wrens, he continued his work as a welder at Lewis Steel until his health began to decline. He was widely respected for his strong work ethic and dedication.
At an early age, Tyrone accepted Christ and joined Wrens Chapel AME Church.
Tyrone was preceded in death by his parents, Alice Mae Mayo Smith and John Paul "JP" Burnett; his sister, Angela Smith Hyman; and his stepfather, Henry James Smith-a devoted father figure who lovingly raised him as his own son.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his son, Ladorian Burnett of Houston, Texas; three brothers, Ray Shannon Mayo of
Wrens, Georgia, Henry Smith, Jr. of Ft. Pierce, Florida and Jeffery Little of Baltimore, Maryland; three aunts, Bettye (Ralph) Jordan, Ruthie (Willie) Stone, and Wanda Jean Smith; two uncles, Luther (Sylvia) Smith and Michael (Mary) Smith, all of
Wrens, Georgia; one nephew, Quintative Smith; first cousins, Cheryl Mayfield, Dr. Toney Jordan, Frederick Jordan, Lisa Jordan, Gwendolyn Perry, Edward Mayo, Jeffrey Mayo, Taryn Boyd, Dalmon Smith, Micheal Smith Jr., Stan Smith, Shaquille Smith, Shamonica Smith, Kalannah Daniels, Edmund Smith, and Briana Smith; along with a host of extended relatives and friends who will forever remember his laughter, kindness, and the joy he brought into their lives.
Tyrone's presence will be dearly missed, but the memories he created will remain in our hearts always.
