Tyrone Earl Gray

ROCKY MOUNT – Tyrone Earl Gray, age 47, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2025. Born in Halifax County, NC on November 25, 1978, he is preceded in death by his sister, Daisy Marie Gray.

Tyrone was a devoted family man whose life was centered around love, laughter, and togetherness. He found joy in the simple pleasures – whether it was spending time with those he loved, sharing a home-cooked meal, or cheering on his favorite teams.

Tyrone had a passion for video games and enjoyed the challenge and fun they brought. Sundays were often reserved for football, where he proudly cheered on the New England Patriots with loyalty and enthusiasm. He was also a long-time wrestling fan, never missing a chance to enjoy the excitement and storytelling of the sport.

Cooking was one of Tyrone's greatest joys. Whether in the kitchen or at the grill, he loved preparing meals for family and friends, filling both plates and hearts. His food was a reflection of who he was – warm, generous, and made with love.

Above all else, Tyrone cherished his family. He was a constant presence, a source of strength, and someone who could always be counted on. His love for his family was unwavering, and his legacy lives on through the many memories he created with them.

Tyrone will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his spirit will forever remain in the laughter shared, the meals enjoyed, and the love he gave so freely.

Tyrone is survived by his mother, Earl Marie Gray and father Rogest Ray Langley; sons, Aheem Hunter, and Tyreek Davis; granddaughter, Nijay Savage; sister, Barbara Jean Gray; nephew, LaDamion Gray; nieces, Nakayah Gray, Danajia "Tanka" Pittman, and Shanajia "Nay" Gray; uncles, Roosevelt Langley (Jean), Cecil Earl Langley, William Battle, J.C. Battle, Richard Battle, and Haywood Battle; his aunts, Mary Langley, Geraldine Battle, and Emma Jean Williams; his great aunt, Trudy Marie Neville; and his great-uncle, Louis Battle.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 661 English Road Rocky Mount, NC 27804 with Bishop Michael E. Deloatch officiating. A visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the service in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
