Tyrone Powers, affectionately known by many as "T-Bone," entered this world on December 20, 1965, in Nacogdoches, Texas. He was the beloved son of Otis and the late Betty Powers. In 1982, he made a new home in Houston, Texas, with his father and stepmother, Lora Powers, in a city that would come to know his warm smile, generous heart, and unforgettable spirit.
Tyrone was educated in the Houston school system, proudly graduating from Jesse H. Jones High School in 1983. From a young age, he accepted Christ and nurtured his faith while attending Outreach Missionary Baptist Church, laying the foundation for the compassionate and faith-filled man he became.
In 1993, Tyrone married the love of his life, Laura Powers. Their bond was one of deep love, laughter, and unwavering partnership, Together, they were blessed with a daughter, Chloe Powers, who became the light of his life. Tyrone later welcomed the role he cherished most – Papa to his precious granddaughter, Skye Williams.
Throughout his life, Tyrone worked diligently in various jobs, gaining the knowledge, resilience, and character that eventually led him into the fields of law enforcement and mental health. No matter the role, he served with integrity, heart, and a commitment to making a difference.
Tyrone will be remembered as a devoted husband, a proud father, and a caring son. He gave endlessly – his time, his wisdom, and his love – and his presence could bring comfort to any room. Known for his infectious laugh and compassionate nature, Tyrone touched countless lives. Whether with family, friends, or strangers, he showed up with kindness, sincerity, and a deep sense of purpose.
He is preceded in death by his loving mother – Betty Powers, and his dear sister – Rose Marie Powers.
Left to cherish his memories are his devoted wife – Laura Powers; daughter – Chloe Powers (James); adored granddaughter – Skye Williams; father and stepmother – Otis and Lora Powers; mother-in-law – Agnes Taylor; sisters – Carol Hampton, Toni Griffin and LaTonya Lacey (Michael D. Brown); brother – Timothy Griffin (Deshonda); sister-in-law – Yolanda Simien (Kerry); brother-in-law – Warren Taylor, Jr. (Chrisandrea); and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who were blessed to know and love him.
Tyrone's legacy is one of love, faith, and unwavering strength. Though his physical presence is no longer with us, his spirit will continue to guide and comfort all who knew him.
Rest well, T-Bone. Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, and you are loved beyond measure.

Uncle T, you were the glue and direction on our shift, you let us figure things out on our own knowing that if it got too much, you were there to check us or encourage us, thank you. Then there was the question we all kept asking, "so what we eating today?´ And we´d come to a consensus, you taught me a lot and introduced me to a lot too. Thank you for always having the time. You were appreciated. Rest with the angels Uncle T.
