Ueli Jucker

Ueli Jucker, 86, of Enfield, beloved husband of Sylvia (Abbott) Jucker, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Hartford Hospital. Born on March 27, 1939, in Hinwil, Switzerland, Ueli spent his early years immersed in the beauty and traditions of his homeland. He proudly served in the Swiss military and achieved remarkable success in the sport of luge, becoming the Swiss Luge Champion in 1960 and representing Switzerland in the 1964 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck. In 1968, Ueli emigrated to the United States, where he began working as an engineer in the machine tool division at Pratt & Whitney. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish Jucker & Peace Electronics, a successful company he ran with dedication for 30 years until his retirement. Ueli had a deep love for the outdoors and was a familiar presence at Forest Park, where he enjoyed daily walks with the Old Timers walking club. His warmth, humor, and quiet strength left a lasting impression on all who knew him. In addition to his devoted wife Sylvia, Ueli is survived by his children: Christa Conlin and her husband George of Westborough, MA; Beat Jucker and his wife Susan of Royersford, PA; and Andreas Jucker and his wife Shannon of Denver, CO. He also leaves behind his step-sons, Todd Redden of Manchester and Robert Redden of Enfield; his cherished grandchildren, Alexa, Daniel, Patrick, and Keira; his brother, Walti Jucker; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends, including those from the Forest Park Old Timers walking club. He was predeceased by his brother, Dolf Jucker, and his sister, Nelly Hess. Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
