Umberto D. Pensiero

Umberto D. Pensiero, 87, husband of Elisa (Conte) Pensiero, died on February 3, 2026. Born in Minturno, Italy, he was the son of the late Vincenzo and Nunziata Pensiero. He was also predeceased by his son, Vincent Pensiero.

Umberto lived in Germany for a few years before returning to Italy, where he met and married Elisa, his devoted wife of 59 years. Together they moved to America and settled in Norwalk, where he proudly owned and operated his own house-painting business. He enjoyed watching soccer and Sunday lunches with his family, especially his four beloved granddaughters.

In addition to his wife, Elisa, he is survived by their children, Victor Pensiero of Darien and Nancy Koba and her husband, Philip, of Norwalk; four cherished granddaughters, Samantha and Alexis Pensiero and Rebecca and Emily Koba; as well as two sisters, Antonietta Teschkes of Germany and Lina De Filippis of Italy; sister-in-law Lorenza Conte of Norwalk; and many loving nieces and nephews.

His family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 10, from 8:30 – 9:30 am at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:00 am at St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Avenue, Norwalk, with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery.
