Valdemar will rest eternally at Fort Snelling in Bloomington, MN, which will take place on Monday, November 3rd, at 11am.

Valdemar "Joetex" Soliz, age 74, of Saint Cloud, MN, passed away on September 9th, 2025.

He was born in Lima, Ohio, to parents Lazaro Soliz and Elena (Gonzales) Soliz. He was beloved by many friends and family members, whom he gave each a unique nick name. Valdemar served his country with pride, receiving an honorable discharge from the Army in 1973. Quick witted and funny, Valdemar filled many hearts with laughter and joy. He was a passionate Vikings fan, and overall loved the sport. He also loved to spend time with his family at the casino or playing crossword scratch offs. Pizza Hut was also one of his favorite guilty pleasures. Valdemar was a valiant veteran of the Army. Beyond that, he also worked in construction over the years. He was made tough, but was a lover at heart. Valdemar was very musically inclined and had an especially avid appreciation for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

He is preceded in death by his First born, beloved son, Eric Valdemar Soliz, his niece, Jessica Ann Escobedo, sister, Mary Soliz, brothers, Oscar Soliz and Eusebio "Tio Chavo" Soliz, as well as both of his parents, Lazaro and Elena.

He is survived by his daughters, Deborah Elaine Soliz-Araiza (Alma E. Araiza) and Crystal Elaine Soliz; sisters, Sylvia W. Soliz, Rosalva Soliz, Ruth Soliz, Lasaro Soliz, and one brother; grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and many other beloved family members and friends.
