Valene Krone
February 15, 1935 – June 1, 2025
Our wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Valene "Val" Monsen Krone passed away at the age of 90 on Sunday, June 1, 2025 surrounded by her four children.
Valene was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on February 15, 1935 to Hugh and Juno Grimmett Monsen. She married Heinz Krone on November 14, 1959.
Val lived a full and exciting life. She lived in Utah, Idaho, Washington and California before returning to Brigham City which she considered her forever home.
She had many talents and adventures which included owning and operating a 7-11 franchise, opening a Gambles Hardware Store, becoming a cosmetologist who gave legendary perms, became a successful realtor and worked at IRS.
In 1975 she was a winning contestant on The Price is Right, she loved to go on cruises and travel. She had a great experience teaching English in China and taking a German course in Austria. She loved to bowl, play bridge with her friends and many card games with her family. She loved to go to sales at Auerbachs and get raisin filled cookies at ZCMI. In her later years, she acted in a few plays at The Heritage Playhouse. But above all, she was a loving caregiver, mother and grandmother.
Valene is survived by her four children: Kristine, Scott, Bill and Linda; as well as 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. All of whom she was so proud of and loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her three sisters and her husband Heinz.
A Graveside Service will be held at the Brigham City Cemetery on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.
