Born on July 28, 1957, in Wilmington, California, Valerie's journey through life was marked by her unwavering devotion to her family, her deep Christian faith, and her vibrant spirit that left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

As a homemaker for over four decades, she poured her heart into creating a warm and nurturing environment for her five beloved children: Joseph Porras, Mercy Porras, Ray Nunez, Valine Garza, and Paula Nunez. Her family circle expanded to include 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, with another great-grandchild on the way, each of whom brought immense joy and pride to her life. Valerie's legacy also lives on through her siblings, who shared in the laughter and love that she so generously gave. The Chavira family cherishes the memory of her late son Ray Nunez, who was lovingly greeted by Valerie in the presence of the Lord.
