Valerie J. Contino

Valerie J. Contino (née McGaughran), age 75, of Bogota, formerly of Ridgefield Park, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025. Beloved daughter of the late Philip and Florence McGaughran, Valerie lived a life centered on love, family, and cherished traditions.

She was the devoted wife of the late Thomas Contino and the loving mother of Robert and his wife Tara, Kimberly and her husband Timothy Semenoro, Jill and her husband Christopher Connolly. She was also the dear sister of the late John McGaughran. Valerie was the treasured grandmother of Julia and her husband Patrick, Ryan, Jack, Emma, Kate, Madeline, Thomas, and Lily, and the adored great-grandmother of Bobbie Josephine.

Valerie's family was her proudest accomplishment. She delighted in Sunday dinners, baking Christmas cookies, and celebrating holidays that brought everyone together. She cherished family time deeply and built a lifetime of memories that will forever be held close by those she loved. Valerie also had a special place in her heart for her dogs throughout her life.

Her warmth, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, November 23rd from 4-8pm at the Volk Leber Funeral Home. 789 Teaneck Road, Teaneck, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 24th at 11am at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Bogota, NJ. Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus, NJ.
