A funeral service officiated by Reverend Farley Painter will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, October 18, 2024 at Vincent Funeral Home of Kaplan honoring the life of Valerie Jane Lovell, 9, who passed away on October 14, 2024 at her residence.
Valerie Jane Lovell, a free spirit who marched to the beat of her own drum, passed away on October 14, 2024, in Kaplan, Louisiana, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on February 20, 2015, in Crowley, Louisiana, Valerie will be remembered for her love of fishing, camping, creating her own songs and dances, and expressing herself through painting. Valerie's free-spirited nature and love for life will forever be cherished by those who knew her. May she rest in peace as her memory lives on in the hearts of those she touched.
A visitation will take place at Vincent Funeral Home of Kaplan on Thursday from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM with rosary prayed at 7:00 PM and will continue Friday from 8:00 AM until services. The burial will follow at Esther St. James Cemetery in Esther.
She is survived by her parents, Kandace Leger and Samuel Sagrera of Kaplan; her biological father, Dominique Racca of Meaux; three sisters, Danielle Lovell of Kaplan, Regan Sagrera of Kaplan and Lylia Sagrera of Henderson; maternal grandmother, Peggy Leger of Kaplan; maternal grandfather, Daniel Leger of Carencro; grandparents, Cathy and Lynwood Sagrera; paternal grandmother, Barbara Langlinais (Mark) of Meaux and her paternal grandfather, Heath Racca of New Iberia.
